Online Master of Applied Business Analytics Frequently Asked Questions

What are the admissions criteria for this program?

Admission into the online MBA program is highly likely for candidates who have:

    • An undergraduate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
    • An undergraduate degree with a GPA between 2.7 to 2.99 and at least 3 years of professional work experience.
    • A graduate degree.

Is the GMAT required for admission?

No. The GMAT is not required for admission to the Master of Applied Business Analytics program. We have streamlined the application process to make the program more accessible to working professionals, allowing applicants to focus on their academic background, experience, and career goals rather than standardized testing.

What materials are required to complete my application?

The following materials are required to complete your application:

    • Completed online application.
    • Official transcripts from each post-secondary institution attended.
    • A current resume.

Where should I have my transcripts sent?

Official transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to The University of Toledo. The University of Toledo’s institution code is 1845.

If you have attended an international institution, you can upload an unofficial transcript to process your application. However, an official transcript will eventually be required to fulfill your admission.

How long does the program take to complete?

Most students complete the program in approximately 18 to 24 months while attending part time. Your timeline may vary depending on your course load and schedule preferences.

Can I work full time while enrolled?

Yes. The program is designed specifically for working professionals. Many students continue working full time while completing their degree.

What background is required?

Applicants from a variety of academic and professional backgrounds are welcome. While a business or quantitative background can be helpful, it is not required. Your admissions coordinator can review your transcripts and discuss any coursework that may be recommended.

Will my diploma say “online”?

No. Your diploma will state Master of Applied Business Analytics from The University of Toledo. The delivery format is not listed.

Do online students have access to university resources?

Yes. Online students have access to academic advising, career services, professional development workshops, student organizations, and university events. Students are also eligible for a student sports pass that includes admission to home athletic events.

Is the Neff College of Business and Innovation accredited?

Yes. The Neff College of Business and Innovation is accredited by AACSB, placing it among a small percentage of business schools worldwide that meet rigorous quality standards.

When can I start?

The online MABA offers three start terms each year: Spring, Summer, and Fall. This flexibility allows you to begin the program at a time that works best for your professional and personal schedule.

Who teaches courses in the M.A.B.A. program?

The program is primarily taught by a group of Neff COBI faculty who bring expertise in business analytics and information systems along with real-world industry insight including Dr. Steve Wallace, Dr. Yue Zhang, Dr Hao-Wei, Dr. Xinghao Yan and Dr. Ben George. As an AACSB-accredited business school, all courses are taught by faculty who hold Ph.D. degrees and focus on helping students apply analytics tools and concepts to real business decision-making.
