Doctoral of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.)

The online doctor of nursing practice (D.N.P.) degree at The University of Toledo is designed to elevate master of science in nursing (M.S.N.) advanced practice registered nurses and nurse leaders to the highest level of clinical practice. The program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

The online D.N.P. curriculum includes theoretical and clinical courses to prepare students to lead and develop innovative healthcare delivery in a variety of healthcare settings.

There are three M.S.N. to D.N.P. track options at The University of Toledo:

1. The M.S.N. to D.N.P. nurse practitioner track is for the master’s-prepared nurse who desires to complete the D.N.P. and become an advanced practice nurse. Nurse practitioner tracks include:

      • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

2. The M.S.N. to D.N.P. Nurse Executive track is designed to take the master’s-prepared nurse to the highest level of nursing leadership.

3. The M.S.N. to D.N.P. track is designed to take the master’s-prepared advanced practice nurse to the highest level of clinical practice.

Research Opportunities:

D.N.P. students must complete an evidenced-based practice project that addresses a contemporary healthcare need. They are mentored by UToledo College of Nursing faculty and community members.
