The online master’s degree in counselor education, with a concentration in school counseling, prepares students for careers as school counselors in public or parochial schools. Graduates will be trained to plan, deliver, and evaluate a comprehensive school counseling program that aligns with the ASCA National Model.  

All students will complete a 100-hour practicum and 600-hour Internship experience in the K-12 setting. 

The school counseling program is designed to meet The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) 2024 Standards. The program provides the theoretical foundation and skills necessary for students to obtain licensure as a professional school counselor through the Ohio Department of Education. 

Note: The Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is not offered online at this time.
