Details about the program:
The online master’s degree program in Higher Education at The University of Toledo is geared toward working or aspiring professionals in all areas of higher education, student affairs and academic support and management. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a steady 2% growth for the next decade in post-secondary administrative positions.
Our goal is to prepare well-trained graduates for entry- and mid-level positions in
administration and professional staff roles. Graduates of our program work in many
positions across diverse institutional settings including colleges, universities,
community colleges, technical and trade schools, and educational organizations and
associations across the country.
Some specific occupations include advisors, development officers, registrars, success
coaches, athletics staff, human resources and finance staff, conduct officers, program
coordinators, enrollment and admissions officers, and many other student or academic
affairs roles.
The program offers rolling admissions and can be completed in as little as six semesters.
Seven-week courses are offered back-to-back, on a rotation schedule. Students who
work full time typically take two courses per semester.
Students who have no prior experience in higher education are highly encouraged to
complete one or two practicum experiences to gain hands-on work experience in a college
or university setting.
