Details about the program:
The online prekindergarten special needs graduate certificate at The University of Toledo is designed for licensed teachers who want to develop the skills to work effectively and successfully with preschool-aged children with disabilities in a variety of settings.
Those seeking a certificate in prekindergarten special needs must hold a current Ohio teaching license in K-12 intervention specialist (mild/moderate or moderate/intensive) or early childhood education (PK-3).
The prekindergarten special needs certificate allows licensed teachers to teach in
a school district-sponsored preschool special needs classroom or serve as itinerant
preschool teachers serving young children with disabilities. The certificate is also
designed around the competencies identified by the Ohio Board of Regents/Department
