The online master’s degree in professional science in transplantation and donation sciences (P.S.M.) at The University of Toledo is a blend of course work in science and medicine to prepare students for a leadership role as an organ procurement coordinator in your institution.

The program is the first master’s program in the field of organ and tissue donation and transplantation in the U.S.

The online program is designed for individuals already working in the field with an organ procurement organization (OPO), a transplant program center, or a tissue bank.

Students take three blocks of courses in science, medical science, and professional development. Other courses cover the legal, ethical, sociocultural, and behavioral dimensions associated with death, organ and tissue donation, and transplantation.

Online graduate students in the program complete a full-semester internship at the OPO with which they are affiliated. The capstone experience requires each student to give an online presentation of two case studies from their internships to their fellow students.
